Creating Sci-Fi and Fantastical Props, Costumes, and Sculptures since 2017
My name is Andrew Gater, I am a recently graduated Industrial Engineer from California Polytechnic, specializing in Cinematic Production Design. With over 12 years of prop fabrication and theming experience, I plan to turn this passion of mine into a career. All images displayed on this site of hand props, costumes, or animatronics are I have created myself. All theming and scenic design installations were completed by myself and the wonderful Art Department at DWL studios.

FRIDA my animatronic Viper Probe Droid built for California Polytechnic as my Senior Project
F.R.I.D.A, my animatronic probe droid, was created for California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo as my senior project and is soon to be placed in their new STEM building. The droid will interact with passerby and inspire interest in the many crossovers between Engineering and the Liberal Arts. F.R.I.D.A is powered via two Arduinos and features speakers, lighting within the eyes, infrared motion sensors, and servo motors to animate the droids metal appendages.
